REVIEW OF THE BB. PILIPINAS 2012 CANDIDATES AFTER THE PRESS PRESENTATION

#1 Karen Gallman

1. Karen Gallman 19 years old , beautiful face but real real poor body....I am beginning to lose interest with her.

2. Romelyn De Castro, 20 years old – she did a very respectable presentation. Nice and lithe body. Will she be able to sustain this new found momentum? 

3. Nicole Marable, 17 years old – obviously this girl is a tyro. She’s sweet but she seemed lost among the sea of more experienced and seasoned girls. Will she be able to fascinate the judges come pageant night with simply charms alone?

4. Jaine Hidalgo, 25 years old – I just don’t feel what others feel for this girl. She simply lost her sparkle during the presentation day. 

#5 Rose Ann Aguilar

5. RoseAnn Uy Aguilar, 24 years old – this girl may make it to the semi-finalist circle and looms to be one of the dark horses for a title. She’s sweet. She’s alluring. She’s loveable.

6. Maria Alicia Elena Ariosa, 24 years old – another beautiful and lovely girl. But her body symmetry seems lacking. She needs to trim those legs and thighs more to be competitive.

#7 Patricia Lae Ejercitado

7. Patricia Lae Ejercitado, 23 years old – Oh that lovely brown skin coupled with a beautiful smile. Great to behold! Will she be able to maintain the momentum that she had starting from the screening period till pageant night? A crown is a possibility. 

#8 Nicole Schmitz

8. Nicole Schmitz, 23 years old – she’s a refreshing face to watch. However, there are two things that her handlers should correct; a.) Follow hairstyling that will cover her deficiencies. She has a very big forehead. And it wipes out the beautiful symmetry of her face. b.) The smile. Although the smile radiates a sincere character, she must learn to control it. We all have imperfections but they can be buttressed by proper styling. I just don’t get it really. In Nicole’s previous outings, she had much much better styling. 

#9 Mary Jean Lastimosa

9. MJ Lastimosa, 24 years old – this girl seemed to have lost the edge over other girls in swimsuit. The once piece blue swimsuit is not for her. It did not highlight the small waistline for this girl. She came out “hippy.” She came out heavy at the hips. And my goodness, she was smiling but her eyes radiate some kind of loneliness. Is she not happy? Is she not ravenous to be crowned for the Universe? If she is, she does not show it. 

#10 Jillean Camille Orbina

10. Jill Orbina, 20 years old – I admire this girl. She showed much inertia in this competition. Her styling however did not catapult her to a candidate that is touted to win a crown for herself. She was however very pretty in her front views but profile views do not give her justice. She seemed to get drowned when with the other candidates.

#11 Marie Virginia Cecile Peter

11. Marie Peter 21 years old – I am a fan of this girl now. She is simply ravishing. She knows her angles. She knows her best features. She probably reads my reviews and does what has been suggested and she comes out gorgeous. She has learned to project not only fiercely but in a very likeable manner. Will she be within the radar for a crown? Pray tell!!!

12. Ayalee Dasalla 21 years old – after a very stunning outcome of her headshot, this girl seemed to have cocooned. She looks very sedate. She is not what she is in the press presentation. 

13. Katrina Jayne Dimaranan 18 years old - oh la la la. This girl is bubbly. She might not be a quintessential beauty but she has the personality that enlivens everyone. With this alone, she is a shoo-in for a semifinalist consideration. 

14. Gina Joy Howell, 20 years old- this girl seemed to be physically affected by the rigors of the competition. She had looked very thin. She looks anorexic. She should eat more and gain some poundage to bring back the luster that had been lost. This is not a modeling contest. This is a beauty contest so to speak. 

#15 Elaine Kay Moll

15. Elaine Kay Moll, 20 years old – I think this girl is competing with Candidate number 14 concerning their thinning physique. Since this girl is the tallest, she becomes the first person whom you look at first. But she frustrates me because it seems like only height is there to her. Her styling was poorly done during the press presentation. She looks and projects very poorly. 

#16 Liezl Alcantara

16. Leizl Alcantara, 19 years old – this girl is a surprise. She has a very sweet demeanor. She seems to know that there are others who are more popular in terms of mileage from her but she never lost that sweet countenance. It seems like this girl is enjoying every minute of the competition. And these are the kind of people that usually pull a big surprise come pageant night. 

17. Ana Czarina Buenviaje 18 years old – it seems that this girl is following the footsteps of her namesake Czarina Gatbonton. Her skin color, her hair style, her deportment and even the way she smiles, very Czarina. I don’t know if the seeming likeliness is intentional. If it is, will this work?

#18 Janine Mari Tugonon

18. Janine Tugonon, 22 years old – Oh Janine. Oh Janine. I was not even able to recognize her. Who in the world placed her under tanning machine? It does not suit her. Instead of her sparkling, she needed tons and tons of smiles just to get noticed. All that Janine did during the presentation show was forcing through. 

#19 Roxane Joy Jesalva

19. Roxanne Joy Jesalva 18 years old – this girl’s android hair fell down. They just did some waves in her hair and it seems it worked for her. Being beside Janine, we can see that she even outshone her. 

20. Roxanne Tadique, 25 years old – this girl showed a very photogenic face in her headshot. But during this outing, she failed to catapult herself to stellar status. I felt that as a viewer she is just there. 

21. Giselle Munoz 25 years old – this girl this time experiment with the android hair. I don’t know if it worked well for her. I have ambivalent feelings. I noticed the poorly structured body physique. 

22. Meiji Cruz, 18 years old is a smaller version of Ana Teresa Licaros. That is the only impression that got into me upon seeing her. She has a sweeter smile though. 

23. Goldy Baroa, 23 years old – she gets better probably by the day. I hope she gets much better during the pageant night to propel herself to leading status. 

24. Fer Baliquig, 20 years old – I thought this girl improved a lot during the head shot photo shoot. But it seemed like she is going to oblivion. I love the way she is being packaged as someone with exotic appeal. But such appeal was nowhere to be seen during the press presentation. Her star dimmed and I hope she will regain enough luster to be noticed come final reckoning. 

25. Chloe Zanardi – 24 years old – she is a pretty girl whose handler does not know how to package her. If in the screening, she was packaged like a diva, in her headshot photo, she looked like a senior who is attending her promenade night then during the press presentation, what with those frizzy hair and adamant expression? 

26. Angelee Delos Reyes – 24 years old – well, this girl should be able to ace this round as she is a bikini finalist. Oopps, I made a mistake, they are wearing one-piece swimsuits. And practically, Angelee did justice to this swimsuit. She also did not try to outdo herself like what bikini candidate finalists do. 

27. Golda Soller – 25 years old- the lady doctor came shining through. With a very demure demeanor, will she be able to snatch a slot come finals night? 

28. Marie Irisha Arcenas – 20 years old – in most of her shots, this girl did not seem happy. In the group shot, she showed a smirk and it came through everyone. What’s up Mia?

#29 Annalie Forbes

29. Analie Forbes – 19 years old – this girl is Miss Winsome smile. She has it. 

30. Sherlyn Gonzales – 24 years old- this girl is Miss Press Photography. She has the face.

Now after the Press Presentation, my bets are:
1. Rose Ann Uy Aguilar – oh she resurrected herself in my list
2. Patricia Lae Ejercitado – consistent so far
3. Nicole Schmitz – consistent also in my list
4. Marie Peter –she is catapulted to stellar status
5. Liezl Alcantara – another girl that shot up to my top 5 list
