APRIL 2012 EDITORIAL: ENDLESS MOMENTS

As we thread into our 4th issue for the year 2012, we are happy about the increasing traffic that the e-zine is experiencing for the past few months. We have breached 7000 views and more and more are discovering us. We thank you for your appreciation and we would like to enjoin you to register and join the group at the blog site. We would appreciate it much as we can see that you follow the blog site and in so doing we encourage you to write your comments to guide us in bringing out a better site for our readers.

This issue is entitled “Endless Moments.” Who could not forget the moment that Miss Leila Lopes won Miss Universe 2011 in Brazil? It is but proper that we put the Queen of the Universe in our cover since she is the most popular among the winners of pageantry in the year 2011.

And who could forget the endless nights and moments that Philippine pageant fans wait for the culmination of the Binibining Pilipinas on April 15, 2012. We cannot give you a blow by blow account in real time but we are trying our best to give you in-depth analysis and evaluation of the candidates’ performances as the pageant nears the final night. Be informed however that whatever that is written is based on the perspectives of our writers. It is in no way the general stand of the blog site. We will try however to put out enlightened choices based on the survey were conducting.

Of course since this is an April issue, we also focused on the endless activities celebrated on this month. One of our resident writers wrote about the significance of the Earth Day and what it had to do with beauty pageants. Our resident fashion reviewer looked back on to the gowns paraded by the winners of Miss Universe for the past 11 years. It is simply endless. A guest writer based in Japan also wrote about the endless discoveries on the Land of Rising Sun. One article focused on the topic of Lent and the traditional “Visita Iglesia” (Visit to Churches) in the Philippines. Our chief editor chronicled his experiences about visiting 14 churches on Maundy Thursday. And this is an endless moment of memories for him and for you readers who share similar experiences with him.

Our April issue therefore talks about endlessness of April. There are variety of things that can be talked about  this April. As Elaine Furst wrote and I quote: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Never is a statement more true than when you take a look at the different definitions of beauty from around the world. What one finds truly beautiful, someone else might find outrageous, weird or even ugly. We do not all live following the same standards or principles. We do not have the same ideals. We are different; so is beauty." Beauty therefore abounds everywhere and it just for us to appreciate. Beauty is really endless.
